Galathea squamifera is a medium-sized crab from the squad lobster family Galatheidae. It can reach a length of 6 - 6.5 cm.
The species lives on rocky ground where it is hiding under stones during the day. These crabs use to peek out of their hiding spot with their claws and head and are able to very fast if disturbed.
